History

Back in the early 1990's I graduated from the Univerisity of Toronto and started working for a robotics distributor. I started to write programs to be more efficient in sales and soon fell in love with programming. I moved around a little until I could be a programmer full time.

I became a consultant contractor in 1998 and started working for big financial companies. Being primarily in banking and insurance fields I did pick up some retail, manufacturing, transportation and other experience over the years.

In the beginning I used VB 3, 4, 5 and 6 doing primarily WinForms with MS Access and Oracle as the back ends. Over time near the end of the 1990's I began to get more involved in ASP webpages. I've still used WinForms in some contracts but my primary skills are Microsoft's ASP.Net and C# with more times than not SQL Server.

My roles have been all over the place. Solutions/Application Architect, Data Modelling, Senior Programer and Team Lead with a mix of data intensive projects, UI developemnet or a verticle slice from front to end. If it's a good project I'm interested and when it comes to the team and its success I take the role that will best fit the team and project.
